At Lucenza, we want you to enjoy our candles and wax melts to the fullest. Safety is our top priority! Follow the guidelines below to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
General Safety Guidelines
Safety with Wax Melts

Only use a wax burner that is suitable for wax melts and place it on a heat-resistant surface.

Do not add water to the burner! Wax melts evaporate, but they do not boil like oil or water.

Allow the burner to cool before removing old wax.

Do not use wax melts for longer than the recommended burn time per session (usually 4 hours).

Do not use sharp objects to remove wax; let the wax harden and gently squeeze it out or use cotton pads to absorb liquid wax.
Never leave a burning candle unattended – Always make sure someone is nearby when a candle is burning.
Place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface – This will prevent the candle from falling over or damaging furniture.
Keep candles away from flammable materials – Place them at least 12 inches (30cm) away from curtains, paper, decorations and other flammable objects.
Keep candles and wax melts out of the reach of children and pets – Little hands and curious animals can easily get burned.
Avoid drafts and open windows – Wind can cause the flame to move unpredictably and wax to splatter.
Do not let a candle burn down completely – Stop burning when there is 1cm of wax left to avoid overheating the glass or tin.
Use a suitable wax burner for wax melts – Do not leave the burner unattended and ensure it is placed on a safe, stable surface.
Trim the wick to 5mm before each burn - This prevents excessive flame and excessive soot formation.
Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the candle – This prevents smoke and splatter. If you don’t have a snuffer, blow out the candle carefully.
Allow melted wax to harden completely before relighting a candle – This ensures an even burn and prevents tunneling.
